Admin/Biographical History Henry Dickson (1838-1907) designated in his will funds to build the John Dickson Home for indigent men in memory of his father, John Dickson (1797-1871); the home was originally built at 5000 14th Street, N.W. and subsequently relocated to 3050 R Street N.W.; closed as a facility in 1982 but proceeds from the trust were used to provide care for indigent men and women in other appropriate homes.
