Description Description of the life of "Lexington", a race horse. Text reads: "Lexington was bred by Dr. E. Warfield of Lexington, Kentucky. He was foaled in 1850 and died July 1, 1875, at the farm of A.J. Alexander in Woodford County, Kentucky. On April 2, 1855, Lexington ran four miles in 7 minutes, 19 3/4 seconds, over the Metairie course in New Orleans. This record had never been equalled previously. Lexington sustained by one defeat during his career. Gift of Mr. A.J. Alexander through Dr. J.M. Toner."
