|Provenance||The collection consists of about 1200 aerial photographs of the Washington D.C. metropolitan area in the mid to late 1950s. The photographs were taken, usually from 5,000 feet altitude, by the Whetzel Associates Company -- 250 in nine east-west overflights of the area later bounded approximately by the Capital Beltway.|
